Just a blurb for a useful tool for managing articles online: Connotea. It has been around since 2005(?) but this is the first I have heard of it, so I thought I might post the link in case there is anyone else out there as oblivious as I am. Connotea is bookmarking tool aimed at researchers, clinicians and scientists. It differs from social tools such as del.ic.ious because it can incorporate bibliographic information.
Other bonuses: it recognises some online science journals (such as Nature1) which means it will also grab the bibliographic data for you. It has the ability to import/export RIS, EndNote etc, supports DOIs and OpenURL and has a limited target audience so it remains relevant to scientists. From the website: “Connotea is a free online reference management service. It allows you to save links to all your favourite articles, references, websites and other online resources with one click. Connotea is also a social bookmarking tool, so you can view other people’s collections to discover new, interesting content.” (Connotea 2008)2
