Cocks-Satisfaction Zone


I was innocently reading the “Geology of the Sir Samuel 1:250 000 sheet area, Western Australia” notes by Liu, Champion & Cassidy (2002), when I discover how to make both men and roosters happy. It is the “Cocks-Satisfaction Zone“. Apparently, the best exposure is west of the northern section of the Mt McClure Fault in W.A. I shall retrieve my brain from the gutter now, and may have to wipe down my desk after snorting coffee all over it.

SquidSquid


There is a 698kg squid building a website at squidsquid.com. Really. According to this website my squidname is michelle the gelatinous mollusc. Except that I am a goldfish. I am confused. Probably why I am a goldfish. This will make more sense after you visit squidsquid.

(Of Doom) Or Weird Tales From the Old Ones: A webcomic based on HP Lovecraft’s Old Ones and aliens. Every now and then I get the impression I really should read a few HP Lovecraft stories. Happily, I can count this as research at the moment, but only if there are tentacles.

Squidpunk


Somewhat random post on an (April Fools) proposal for a squidpunk anthology: Vandermeers to edit new tachyon anthology: squidpunk & Squidpunk And yet, and yet… I’d actually buy it. Minus the whole Joan Collins, Johnny Depp etc obviously. Well, I hope its obvious. I just hope it doesn’t all get taken down when April Fool’s is over. My other reactions were: 1) I like the cover, 2) they have too much time on their hands (but more such silliness should be encouraged), and 3) where can I get a soft squid plushie? (Update 03/04/2008: Cleaned up grammar, shortened to aside)
